steps
tackle the golden question: if you had all the money in the world, what would you be doing with yourself? don"t hold back. this is brainstorming time. make a list of all the things you"d rather be doing with your time. your first few answers will probably be something like: take a tropical vacation, spend more time with the kids, etc. but push your thinking beyond that.
evaluate your skills and talents. ask yourself: what am i good at? what do i most enjoy doing? write down every skill you"re capable of. don"t be shy.
think of jobs that allow you to do what you really want to do, at least in some form, and apply your skills and talents every day. be creative and open-minded.
consider your financial situation. how much does it cost, on a monthly and annual basis, to support your current standard of living? are you willing to lower your standard so that you can take a job that pays less?
make a list of everything you want in your new job, and one of everything you don"t.
browse job descriptions in your desired field. visit a site like to find out how much you can expect to earn in your new career. (however, do realize that is not the source businesses use to set salaries- they use services that survey other businesses. just shows a possible average of salaries and is a decent general place to start for career info.) also refer to the occupational outlook handbook to see how competitive the job market may be.
check local schools for courses and programs that may give you an edge. start taking night classes while you"re still at your current job. establish rapport with your teacher - he or she will prove to be a valuable reference when you"re applying for a new job.
volunteer for organizations related to your desired career. for example, if you want to work in architecture, volunteer for habitat for humanity, which builds houses for disadvantaged families. you get experience, and they get a helping hand!
network. talk to people in your desired field. explain your situation. ask them for advice. give them your contact information. if what they say is true - "it"s not what you know, it"s who you know" - then cover all your bases in this department.
save enough money to support you for 3-6 months, or however long you think it"ll take to find a job in your new career that"ll support you adequately.
write a new resume. make sure you include your objectives (based on step 1), education (step 6) and relevant experience (step 7).
start your job search and good luck!
tips
most people"s deepest vocational passions fall within three categories: teaching, healing, and creating. if your focus in your career is on doing one of these three things, you"re far more likely to draw satisfaction from your job.
having a spouse with a steady job makes switching careers a lot easier, but is by no means necessary. you should, however, seek the moral support of friends and family.
consider donating your time for free if your new chosen profession enables this, to help you gain some experience and meet people in the field.

he rhythm of life
how well are we in tune with the rhythm of life? in our busy day to day eistence, we dont often stop to ask ourselves this question. at least i dont. and it wasnt until i joined a competitive sporting event that i learned a most important lesson – we must place our mind in harmony with the natural order of things to be successful.
let me tell you what happened.
i decided to take part in an international marathon in my hometown last year. being an ambitious person, i hoped to finish it within 5 hours, accompanied by my friend with whom i had trained.
the big day finally arrived. “ready…set…bang” and we were off.
at first, we kept a rapid pace and ran nonstop. at this pace, we finished the first 20 kilometers in 2 hours and i thought running a marathon was a piece of cake. then my running mate began to slow down. i urged him to keep running at the same pace but he said no, he wanted to conserve his energy. i felt i had partnered with the wrong person, therefore, i sprinted on and left him behind in the dust.
a few kilometers later, i began to understand his strategy as my pace slowed to a jog then a walk. after that i was incapable of moving another step. i was humiliated as more and more people ran passed me. more than once i thought “maybe i should quit.” i started to doubt my ability to finish this race.
at this moment, my running mate caught up with me and slapped me on the back. “follow me,” he shouted. he had balanced his marathon pace and was encouraged me to do the same. for the rest of this grueling contest, we walked, jogged, ran a few miles, and walked again. slowly, painfully but hopefully this time, we established the most suitable pace within the natural flow of our physical capabilities.
eventually we accomplished our first marathon of 42 kilometers in 4 and half hours. i asked myself, what did this marathon mean to me? my marathon eperience became an influential metaphor for my life about how we must learn to pace ourselves in everything, by being in tune with the rhythm of life.
like the tide that ebbs and flows, we must listen to advice but make our own decisions. like the show at dawn and dusk, we must learn to balance pride and modesty. and from the way the wind can both shout and whisper, we must learn when to be strong and when to be gentle, for everything moves in its own rhythm and its own yin and yang elements. it is the interaction of these complementary etremes that produces harmony, as laozi said, etremes meet. since the marathon, this notion of two opposite forces working together has been my running partner, so to speak. yin and yang eist everywhere, constantly interacting, and never eisting in an absolute condition.
ladies and gentlemen, life is like running a marathon, let us discover, define and develop a natural rhythm of life, in order to achieve both harmony and success.
thank you for listening.

i joined the government informed by my experiences in the private sector, having been both an executive leading an international real estate business and an entrepreneur who built a successful brand in an entirely different industry.
as a professional with three young children, despite the help i am able to have at home, i too experience the struggles of balancing the competing demands of work and family.
i, however, am far more fortunate than most.
because of the opportunities i’ve been afforded my whole life, i felt an obligation to seize this moment and join the administration.
i saw a chance to fuel the number of women owned businesses and grow our economy.
i saw a chance to work on behalf of girls in rural communities and inner cities who by learning to code or studying robotics could secure good-paying jobs in our modern economy.

do you know my favorite cartoon?
yes, it is doraemon.
maybe some of you think i’m childish, and maybe some of you think doraemon is a boring cartoon. so today i will tell you why i love doraemon so much.
doraemon is a faulty robot cat. he is very tenderhearted and always makes mistakes. he loves a kind of cake called “tongluoshao”. he hates mice and coldness. he gets very angry when somebody calls him palm civet. he goes hot and cold when he sees beautiful cats. he is so real that he looks like a real person in real life.
doraemon is a symbol of dream, wish and love. i am deeply impressed by every story about doraemon. “i hope you won’t tie to me anymore.” “i hope you will live happily when i don’t accompany you.” when doraemon says these sentences to daxiong before he leaves for 22th century, when daxiong fights with panghu to set doraemon’s heart at rest, i cried feelingly.
every time i am in a low mood, his lovely smile will flash in my mind. i dreamed that one day, he could jump out of my drawer and say hello to me with a smile on his face.
i believe, there’s a doraemon in everybody’s heart. that doraemon is called dream.

i still remember the titanic, though its a big ship but it still sunk,so ,in my opinion ,the best ship is the friendship.
everyone needs friends because there are a lot of things that you cant deal with yourself, and the friends just make up for it.
friendship just likes the sun ,it can make you fell warm though in the cold winter, friendship just likes the water in the desert ,it can make you fell that in the world ,there still has hope .in a word ,the friendship is the same meaning as the greatness ,selfless and devotion.
to make friends ,adding a friend equals adding a way ,open your heart ,devote yourself, let friendship make your world colourful.

dear teachers and students:
good morning! lets look at a group of pictures first.
"modern and advanced"? this society forgets and ignores the other two-thirds. this is far from ideal! we call ideal utopia, a place where there is no reality. some people are still longing for ideals. we make fun of them and think they are naive. if misfortune befalls us, will we still be satisfied with living in such a society? no of course not!
when we feel the warmth of the sun, these people endure great sadness and pain. can we imagine? they are our brothers and sisters!
facing them, will we still complain about our misfortune?
facing them, will we still have the mood to cry for our freedom? facing them, will we still want to have more and more unnecessary things?
they cant meet their own needs, even basic survival needs! shouldnt everyone, as a member of human beings, be ashamed? our luxury deprived their lives, our indifference invaded our souls, and our barbarism destroyed human civilization!
what is the ideal society? this is a society where no one worries about their life, where no one refuses education, and where everyone can pursue their own happiness! the ideal society is full of love, joy and kindness. in that society, we can touch each others hearts, we can share our dreams, and most importantly, we can become real men!
let us break the national barrier, bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, hand in hand, build the great wall, and protect us from evil; build a stable bridge to connect reality and ideal society! lets pursue, this is the only way to a bright future! they are looking at us! thank you!
