托福独立口语真题篇一
because the world is changing so quickly, people now are less happy or less satisfied with their lives than people were in the past.
use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
in modern society, there is no denying that our paces speed up. a small proportion of people who cannot keep up with this trend or resist the world for the fittest, may hold a viewpoint that a mutable society leads people to less satisfaction and mitigation of sense of happiness since such a world might cause the alienation between good fellows and contamination of our environment; however, in my view, it is not the case. as a matter of fact, in a world changing more rapidly, people tend to become satisfied much more easily.
first illustration which can demonstrate my opinion can be the trail of technological development. in the past five decades, millions of new inventions had appeared, entering our daily life, making it much more convenient. to name a good example, in 1896,benz assembled the first three-wheel car in the world. though it brought accidents and mortality to the world, we cannot deny the enjoyment of ferocious speed brought by cars, which made our jaunt convenient. we can simply drop by a old friend 100 miles, a distance taking at least half day before, away in one hour. another good instance is the invention of smart phone. in 1972, martin, the chief engineer in moto devised the first portable telephone. then, this innovation revolutionized out life. just simply imagine what our life looked like without cell phones: people could not keep contact with their friends and exigent messages might be blocked. then in 2007, steve jobs brought iphone with facetime to the world. the most significant aspect of facetime is that this app allows us to communicate with actual image, not just voices. then, how can we state that modern society steals the sense of fraternity among people?
second demonstration which can help me develop my view that a rapidly changing society makes people more satisfied is the use of new energy resources. we may still remember the great smog, one of the gravest air pollution accidents in our history due to the heavily gathered inversion layer of sulfur dioxide originated with burning of coal in 1950s, london. people died of respiratory diseases after inhalation of poisonous air. how can they live happily in a world brimmed with pollutions? but nowadays, we have developed new energy resources to tackle this problem such as hydropower and wind power. to name an example, in 2007, nuclear power plants generate 14% of the total electricity of the us, thus saving tons of coals and reducing the level of inhalable particles. recently, governments and organizations have taken measures to support researches of renewable resources and to find substitutes for fossil fuels. natural reserves and sanctuaries are established, places of interest and spots are refurbished, and factories and manufacturers with pestilent exhaust are shut down. people therefore are provided with much more opportunities to relax by enjoying the beauty of nature.
to draw a conclusion, in a world that is rapidly changing, we are offered a variety of brand-new experiences and highly evolved products, which make life much easier than before. we are in a world filled with convenience brought by high technologies that develop so fast. then, how can we blame on the changing world while enjoying happiness and satisfactions originated from them?

some parents offer their school-age children money for each high grade (mark) they get in school. do you think this is a good idea?
use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
offer;school-age children;for each high grade(mark)they get in school
论证分析
正:
school-age children need encouragement from parents to build confidence and willingness in study. the act that parents offer money for each grade they get is a good material incentive, which allows them to have enough pocket money to do what they want to as well as the sufficient reasons to work hard to get a next good grade.
some school-age children that are occupied with studies feel isolated. they do not have enough awareness about what behind the good grades in examinations. parents’ behavior of offering money for each high grade they get tells them that working hard in study is a necessary. it means parents cares about their efforts and their results. they stand with their children.
反:
material rewards should not be the best way to encourage school-age children to have a better academic performance. parents have the obligation to let their school-age children know that only by studying hard, can they achieve good grades in examinations. and making efforts in study is all for their own choices of their future.
school-age children do not have a mature and sound consumption view. once they got much money from their parents, they are likely to spend their pocket money without any limit before they have a consideration. they may form a bad habit of spending money.
parents’ behavior of offering money for their children’s each high grade in school will make their school-age children misunderstand that grade or mark,is the most valuable standard to measure their academic performance. and money is the optimum way to express recognition. they have an alternative to tell their children that the process of acquiring weighs more and they always understand them during the way of learning. for example, the frequent communication and participation in their children’s learning activities.

do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
in order to be well-informed, a person must get information from many different news resourc es.
use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
in modern society, media was almost everywhere. at the beginning of one day, i read a newspaper when eating breakfast. on the mass transportation to office, i listen to radio programs until the subway arrive my destination. a high school boy next to me is playing an i-phone, and people on the bus read books, journals, and magazines. i usually skimp newspapers and magazines when passing by a convenient store. actually, there are too many sources providing information. i take advantage of them every day, but i still do not feel well-informed, because there is too much information filling into my thinking. so that is the reason why i disagree with the statement that a person must get information from various news sources to be well-informed.
first of all, there are too many sources, and most of them give segment information. the segment information might be misleading our judgment. for example, the weather reports on channels always have different opinions. sometimes a programs says there would be rain tomorrow with 30 percentage raining rate, the other provided that it would be cloudy tomorrow and possible a sunny day. their forecasts are different and might be true. unfortunately, people are more likely to get all of them, which made us harder to make a decision for tomorrow’s plan. hence, people get information from different sources might mislead their judgment and be more difficult to be well-informed.
second, if the people have many sources for information, they will have no time to be well-informed, because they must spend more time integrating them. for example, when i was in the university, i did a study on earth quake and tsunami. i gathered the information from textbooks, national geographic magazines, and discovery channel, as well as the internet. i spent many time organizing these information, and got different knowledge from different media. from the textbook, i knew causes of earth quake and its relationship with tsunami. then, from the discovery channel, i learned the nascent point of view from well-known researchers. i also had the various theories on the internet and finally found they were partially obsolete. after i gathered all the information, i found that to integrate them into a study was really a task, since there was too much information. as a result, i needed more time to be well-informed, and i would rather to take a geological class about the topic.
in sum, there are too many sources providing information. we could spend a lot of time to absorb it all, but the information might be different from different sources. this might make us misleading and lose our judgment. in addition, information from different sources might be too diverged to merge. with that, we have to spend more time on organization. therefore, many different news sources are appropriate for a person who wants to be well-informed.

actually there are two main ways of travelling – travelling on your own and being led by a tour guide in group. sometimes when we plan for a trip, it is always hard for us to choose between these two methods. meanwhile, i would prefer be led by a tour guide while i am travelling around. there are several benefits of being led by someone who is acquainted with the place you go and of being in a group.
being led by a tour guide in group can offer us convenience during our vacation. usually we are not familiar with the landscape, the direction and the customs of our destination. sometimes if we travel abroad, we may even know nothing about the language and thus cannot turn to anyone for help. i still remember when i travelled to italy; i knew no italian at all and found it hard to stay in this foreign country, let alone enjoy myself! finally i found a travel agency and then followed the group. the tour guide offered me a lot of convenience during my stay in italy and finally i went back home safe and sound.
in addition, following a group also guarantee a deeper understanding of the culture in your destination. almost all the tour guides have received formal training in the local history and
culture. actually every time we stay in a group with a tour guide, he will always tell you the customs and the detailed history of a site of interests. therefore, by staying with the group and listening to the tour guide, we will learn more about our destination without much effort.
moreover, being in a group with a tour guide will make you safe during the whole vacation. actually this point of view is the most important in my point of view. the tour guide is familiar with the country or the city we visit and thus we can hardly get lost. staying in group makes us less likely to be focused by some bad people. all of us want a safe tour. as a result, the best way to guarantee safety is to stay in group with a tour guide.
all in all, thought we might lose some freedom by staying in a group with a tour guide, this way of travelling still can be well-rounded because it offers us convenience, deeper understanding and safety. under this circumstance, i want to state that the best way of travelling is to be with a group and to be guided by a person who is familiar with our destination.

people attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). why do you think people attend college or university? use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
people attend colleges or universities for a lot of different reasons. i believe that the three most common reasons are to prepare for a career, to have new experiences, and to increase their knowledge of themselves and the world around them.
career preparation is becoming more and more important to young people. for many, this is the primary reason to go to college, they know that the job market is competitive. at college, they can learn new skill for careers with a lot of opportunities. this means careers, such as information technology, that are expected to need a large workforce in the coming years.
also, students go to colleges and universities to have new experiences. this often means having the opportunity to meet people different from those in their hometowns. for most students, going to college is the first time theyve been away from home by themselves. in additions, this is the first time theyve had to make decisions on their own. making these decisions increases their knowledge of themselves.
besides looking for self-knowledge, people also attend a university or college to expand their knowledge in subjects they find interesting. for many, this will be their last chance for a long time to learn about something that doesnt relate to their career.
i would recommend that people not be so focused on a career. they should go to college to have new experiences and learn about themselves and the world they live in.

托福独立口语真题篇七
some people say that the internet provides people with a lot of valuable information. others think access to much information creates problems.
which view do you agree with?
the internet is a great invention because it disseminates information freely. freedom of information is in the interest of a country and its citizens, but, in light of the information anarchy on the internet, people need to learn and understand how to evaluate and use the information they find at their fingertips.
the internet promotes freedom of information and freedom of speech, which are integral part of a successful modern democratic society. with innumerable news sources at their disposal, citizens have the opportunity to educate themselves, and this knowledge will allow them to contribute to the progression of their society. similarly, the ability to consult different viewpoints, especially those diverging from their own, will allow people engage in meaningful dialogue with other citizens. the result of this continued discourse will be a more open minded and also tolerant society. as a vehicle of communication the internet will connect people of the same interests and the same concerns. thus connected citizens will be encouraged to work together and they will become active participants of society rather than passive subjects.
critics of the internets free flow of information are concerned that people will fall victim to bad or rather incorrect information and act on it. this concern is warranted in so far that the internet is intrinsically anarchic, and anybody with a computer can create website and post information thereon. as a result, it can be very difficult to determine what information is correct or reliable and which is not. however, difficult as it may seem, there are ways that one can navigate the information jungle of the internet and arrive at conclusions. in order to do so one has to learn to valuate sources of information. for example, the website of a research scientist at a major university or that of a well-known non-profit organization is a more reliable source of information than the personal website of a senior school student.

compared with the past several decades, current lifestyle has changed a lot due to the development of science and technology. despite some people may argue that it also leads to some negative effects, such as environmental pollution or more pressure, yet, in my opinion, life today is still more comfortable and easier than the past, since it brings more pros than cons in the following aspects.
firstly, internet brings more conveniences to our life, which breaks away from conventional ways in different fields. for one thing, people can communicate with each other more freely, instead of merely sticking to face to face talk in reality. it is not only beneficial to keep harmony relationship with each other but also improve the efficiency of communication to some degree. for another, various kinds of information and stuff online contribute to building easier and more convenient lifestyle. people can obtain almost everything they want online, such as searching for information, studying, or shopping, which leaves out the trouble of going outside and walking through the crowd.
additionally, the improvement of transportation, involving multiple kinds of transportation, such as buses, trains and even airplanes, they not only improve efficiency of travel, which saves much more time within the same distance, but also ameliorate service mechanism in order to provide passengers more comfortable environment during their travel. meanwhile, compared with the period when our grandparents were children, lower expenses attract more people to enjoy advantages brought by current relatively well-developed transportation.
admittedly, with the increase of life pace, people nowadays are struggling from more pressure in order to pursue better physical life as they attach more importance to their work, and accordingly have less time accompany with their families. however, more entertainment
resources, like bars, playgrounds or gyms, come out, which provide workers with more opportunities to relieve pressure and relax themselves. moreover, as for those who cannot cope with stress by themselves, psychologists are always ready to help them. and people are active to find tradeoff between pressure and life in the feedback.
overall, though we cannot ignore the negative influences in life today, we still need to be optimistic and positive enough to enjoy the better living standards due to the remarkably economic increase and the development of technology.

托福独立口语真题篇九
advertising is one of the most useful ways for enterprise to convince their customers of the products. in fact, advertisements should be honest that it contains real information of the product. meanwhile nowadays advertisement appears to be more misleading and make products better from the appearance.
advertisement seems to make us hard to tell the reality from the fantasy. there is a specific example. when targeted to the young children, enterprises tend to use fantasy themes and characters from fantasy movies to help show off their product. since young children tend not to tell the reality to the fantasy, they will be misled and believe that the product appearing in the advertisement is worth buying. but in fact, the quality of the product will disappoint its buyers.
moreover, nowadays manufacturers tend to ask celebrities to advertise their products. this will also be misleading, too. the celebrities who advertise the product may not use the product at all and he knows nothing about the product. but the audiences tend to believe him since they think the celebrity is always responsible for what he said in a public situation. the celebrity makes this product worth buying, but in fact, it is not as good as the thing appears on the television.
sometimes manufacturers just do not ask any celebrities to help them with advertising. what they do is just to find someone acting as the users of the product. this will be even more misleading since they better convince the audience that the product is of great use, since the audience tends to believe people who have something in common with themselves. on the contrary, the product is not usually so valuable that the audience is cheated by merchants.
under these circumstances, advertisements seem misleading and make people feel better about the product. although there is possibility that some advertisements are worth believing, at most time advertisement seems to guide us to a wrong direction.

托福独立口语真题篇十
do you agree or disagree high-school students are required to study many different subjects at same time or they should study only three or four subjects at a time.
teenagers are in the prime time of their life. what they learn in this period is a huge factor in determining their whole life. to make better use of this valuable time, some educators advocate that students are supposed to study as many subjects as possible at a time. however, i don’t think it is a smart move. instead, studying three or four subjects at a time would serve them better.
to begin with, only three or four subjects at a time ensure that students have enough time and energy to make further research in each of these fields. it allows them to bite deeply into these subjects, thus gaining the whole picture of a certain field in their mind rather than just a smattering of knowledge. it is not hard to imagine what they would suffer when they have too many things in their plate. they would find themselves wrestling with complex chemical formulas, intertwined history events and distinctions between invertebrates and amphibians on the same very day. in consequence, they would end up with spreading themselves too thin and cannot gain a deeper understanding in any of the fields.
besides, when students are allowed to choose three or four subjects at a time based on their own interest, they would performer better without under a huge amount of mental pressure. as an old saying goes, interest is the best teacher. when what they learn really appeal to them, they are more keen on their school work. on the contrary, if they are forced to learn too many subjects at a time, chances are that they not only cannot be guaranteed with good grade but also get upset and frustrated. things may get even worse when they find some of these subjects are extremely bothersome and annoying. i have experienced the suffering. when i was in high school, history was the most difficult one for me. those intertwined history events, exact dates of those events, and various complex names of important figures involved in them just drove me crazy. when the finals were just around the corner, i always burnt mid-night oil to hit history books, feeling so tense and stressed up. so only when students spend their time on just three or four subjects that truly attractive to them can they get good grade on each subject and enjoy their high-school time happily.
what cannot be denied is that there are such versatile brainiacs who can handle with so many subjects at the same time without any difficulty. however, only a small fraction of students are in this line. for most of the students in high school, three or four subjects at a time are more acceptable and effective for their study.
to sum up, i am on the board with the idea that students will benefit more from taking just three or four subjects at a time.

for teenagers aged between 15 to 18, what is the most important to the teacher?
1)the ability to help students plan for future
2)the ability to recognize which student needs help and offer that help
3)the ability to encourage students to learn on their own outside of the classroom
托福写作三选一类范文
secondary education can be one of the most formative experiences in a person’s life. what qualities make a good high school teacher? people might go for abilities like helping with future planning or encouraging academic autonomy. i, however, believe that the most important factor is the ability to recognize students in need and the willingness to lend a hand.
the first beneficiary is underachievers. more often than not, students who fall behind suffer from a low self-esteem. it is especially true for teenagers who find it a disgrace to lose face in front of their peers. in this case, they would stay under the radar and try to bury their problems in the dark. nobody would even notice, not to mention offering any help. however, a teacher with a perceptive mind can discover the problem before it gets worse, so that the troubled kid could get proper help. let’s say a boy whose parents are going through a nasty divorce may show up late at school or miss the deadline for science projects. if the teacher can spot his recent anomaly and reaches out to him, the boy might open up and confide to the teacher. this is the first step on the road to recovery and an attentive teacher makes all the difference.
moreover, this valuable quality would rub off on students as well. instead of lecturing them about helping others, teachers set a better example by practicing what they preach. seeing the teacher shows compassion and kindness to a kid from disadvantaged background, children are more likely to follow suit and learn to empathize. in contrast, if the teacher is always aloof, school bullies will then pick on the troubled kid. it is because when teachers don’t even bother to care, kids would pick up a wrong message that being indifferent is the best policy. what would them turn into when reaching adulthood? self-centered. or even worse, mean and bitter. so it takes a sharp mind to spot trouble and a warm heart to get children out of.
sure, it is not to say other qualities are trivial. future career planning offers students some insight into job prospects and college majors. and students would better adjust to college life if they are trained to learn on their own outside of the classroom. but i wouldn’t say such qualities assume more power than an empathetic heart. why? high schoolers aged 15 to 18 have very vague ideas about their interests and aspiration. that’s why people even take a gap year to figure it out. so why bother planning in such early stage of life while so much remains uncovered and unexplored? as for the ability to encourage learning autonomy, let’s face it, children have been doing this all the time! since the advent of internet, children have been drawn to a variety of search engines and websites, which stimulate self-governed learning in a way no teacher can possibly compare to. but the ability to relate to troubled students and lead them out of the woods is in high demand and cannot be replaced.
to sum up, to benefit high school students to a greater extent, the teachers have to be able to recognize what’s going wrong and what can be done to make it right. other characters can be good to have, but also fine to live without.

do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
the extended family (grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles) is less important now than it was in the past.
use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
the extended family was of great importance in the good old days, but is it still of great importance in our modern society? in my point of view, though the extended family is still important, it is really less important that it was before because of the development of the new society.
one of the important uses of the extended family is to help with family affairs and housework. meanwhile, nowadays people tend to turn to the community service to help with housework. under this circumstance, we can hire someone else, who doesn’t belong to our whole family, to help us with family work. for instance, my mom was brought up with the help of her grandparents. but i was taken care of by the baby-sitter, whom may parents hired from the community service center. the community service center provides good service with a reasonable price.
another important thing that extended family can to is to provide information to and educate family members. however, in the modern society, we have schools to get our education. we have several methods, such as television and internet, to get information. these are resources which can be easily had access to. we do not depend on our family members to get knowledge of the world we live in any longer.
in addition, nowadays people tend to live alone with their small care family rather than live with many family members within a big family. therefore, we have our own circle of communication and we have less in common between different families. taking my own family as an example, my family and my uncle’s are living in the different cities. we usually get together only on spring festival. we have different friends and interest, so sometimes we just find it hard to have something in common. thus, if we really have something in trouble, we can hardly turn to them for help.
all in all, though extended family is still essential to us to some extent, it is less useful with the development of the modern society. the importance of extended family is now fading.
